Zoysia grasses are warm season grasses that are adapted for the entire state. They can be used on home lawns and golf courses. Depending on the variety, the leaf width can be wide or narrow. Zoysia grasses go dormant in the winter.

Types of Zoysia Grasses

  • Zoysia Meyer has a medium width blade. When established, the turf is quite dense and has a dark green color during the growing season. Meyer withstands wear and resists weeds under good management practices. Meyer will perform better in the shade than Bermuda grass.
  • Zoysia Emerald has a much finer leaf than other Zoysias and is highly resistant to wear by foot traffic. Emerald will perform better in the shade than Bermuda grass.
